The Herries Pt occurrence is located along or near the western shore of Knight Inlet, just north west of Herries Point.

The area is underlain by quartz diorite of the Early Jurassic to Eocene Coast Plutonic Complex.

Locally, a chalcopyrite showing is reported (Geological Survey of Canada Open File 480). No other information is known.

No exploration work is known to have been undertaken on the occurrence.
